A bronze that is similar in form to another, but with some differences between the two that are due to one having been cast from an altered or adapted wax model, or from an entirely new model. Artists can make variants of their own work, for example, by adjusting the positions of limbs between casts, or variants may be the result of others imitating the artist’s work.
